This mix is something of a reaction to the omnipresent deep San Francisco house music you hear at every party right now, I wanted to avoid sounding like every other San Francisco house DJ. The beats are rougher and the basslines are fatter, there's a lot of funny tracks in here including my unofficial 'theme tune' - 'Women Beat Their Men', and the glorious 'Sexiest Man In Jamaica'. There are plenty of darker moments though, Cajmere weighs in with "Freaks ad Stars" which lacks his usual vocal gags, some people think it's the best track in the mix, others just don't get it.
This mix was debuted at the Napster shutdown party on September 4th, maybe there's some historical siginificance in being the last piece of music shared at Napster?
Favourite Bit:
The last two tracks - the Carribean influences just make the sun shine.
Hardest Part:
The end of Napster :-(
