Anyway, this week was also crazy because all my DJ's flaked out and left me
with no mixes, but the fearless leader of AM Breaks stepped up to the plate
and delivered something different. Something we all loved, especially my
wonderful girlfriend who I'm in the process of moving in with, incidently.
It's only when you move house that I realise just how many records I have -
I'm weighing the boxes of records as I move them, I think It'll come out to
about half a ton, so in a few years time I'll be able to feel like
Peanut Butter Wolf when 'My Vinyl Weighs A Ton'.
Don't worry about the show, While I'm moving house we've got a plan for
keeping the show productions going and we won't miss a beat, or a breakdown.
And we will stay very very funky.

| Artist | Track | Label | Buy? (readme) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bassbin Twins | ESW | Marine Parade | |
|
This is the intro track we play
at the start of every show. Slammin Beats!

| Laurent Garnier |
The Man With The Red Face | F-Communications | |
|
Pure summer ibiza moment from the french techno god, and some guy playing
saxophone. Supposedly the title comes from the saxophonist's face turning
red when he was blowing hard.

| Cass |
Genesis | Fire | |
|
This is from the Cerebral Noodles EP,
which Cass did, minus his usual partner Slide, if you like this you should
check out their album.

| Loafer |
Travelog | Hope | |
|
I *love* this record, it's like sitting
in a train and relaxing as the world rolls by, shame that the Chemical Brothers
did that video first. Whenever I play this record there's always someone who
thinks that it's from 'Run Lola Run'.

| Radiohead vs Hybrid |
Nothing in its Wrong Place | White | |
|
Hybrid are remix monsters, there's so
many Hybrid remixes out there I could do hybrid only shows for a couple of
months. This remix of Radiohead is only available on bootlegs, I gather it
was apathy rather than legal action which left it without an official release.

| Koma & Bones |
Morpheus | TCR | |
|
Originally turned up as part of TCR's
50th release, but this remix is a bit groovier for my mind. (And the B-Side
sounds like a very Funky Car Alarm).

| Timo Maas |
Ubik (Breakz) | Perfecto | |
|
Back when trance still ruled the world
Timo Maas was commissioned to remix Dooms Night by Azzido da Bass, his original
mix was rejected and later turned into this track. As for his second remix
attempt, well.... we all know what happened to that right?

| Handsome Boy Modelling School feat Roisin Murphy |
The Truth | INCredible | |
|
Every time I play this I get a million
people asking what it is, well quite simply it's the excellent collaboration
between Handsome Boy Modelling School and Roisin Murphy from Moloko. Jaw
droppingly good, this track has been known to trigger spontaneous acts of
cute girls lip syncing and swaying in a sexy manner. Don't say I didn't warn
you.

| Akufen |
Deck The House | Force Inc. | |
|
This record sounds like a broken sampler
and was one of the more unlikely hits last year, some people find it annoying
but it just makes me smile with a cheshire cat grin.
|

| Kelis |
Young Fresh and New (Timo Maas Remix) | Virgin | |
|
Supposedly Timo Maas did this remix
in exchange for Kelis providing vocals on Timo's album 'Loud' - it's
a lot slower than most of Timo's other records but It's easily one of the
funkiest tracks hes' produced. Also - watch out for Kelis providng vocals to
the highly anticipated debut house record from P Diddy, I was never a fan
of his hip-hop work, but "Let's Get Ill" is shaping up to be massive.

| Miguel Migs |
Lionel's Jam | Naked | |
|
Miguel Migs is almost the living
embodiment of San Francisco house music, clean cut, stylish, and easy
on the senses.
|
|||
| Space Cowboy |
Put Your Hand In Mine | Southern Fried | |
|
Space Cowboy almost had a surefire number
one hit on his hands last year until the chart compilers in the UK
disqualified the single for being too long and having too many mixes. Well
he's back again with more feel good house moments, it's not likely to be
such a crossover hit, but nobody on the dancefloor is going to care right?
|
|||
| Scanty Sandwich |
Get Next To The Opposite Sex | Southern Fried | |
|
Continuing the feelgood vibe, again
we have a track from Southern Fried (Norman Cook's record label) - a cure for
all those dull progressive house tracks.
|
|||
| Underworld |
Cowgirl | JBO | |
|
Taking repetitious lyrics to the next
level - Underworld produced one of those tracks that just runs around your
head forever. I'm Invisible,I'm Invisible,I'm Invisible,I'm Invisible.......
