Tracklisting - Hour 1

Artist Track Label Buy? (readme)
Bassbin Twins ESW Marine Parade
This is the intro track we play at the start of every show, Except that this week we decided that the audience deserved to fully experience the slammin' Beats - so here's the bits of the record you don't usually hear.

Leftfield
Phat Planet Hard Hands
A Rubling Bass monster that was the stand out track on Leftfield's second album 'Rythym and Stealth' sadly it proved impossible to follow up 'Leftism' which is still considered by many to be the best dance album ever (tm), but It doesn't stop this being a top track.

Meat Katie & Dylan Rhymes
3 Penny Touch Blue Black
Bass heavy tech house number from a production team who deserve an award for their celebration of bassbins.
Slynus
II White
Slynus is Linus under another name, this techno number is built around a Radiohead sample.

Jan Johnson
Flesh (Tilt's Going Home Mix) Perfecto
One of the few cases where a primetime floor filler has proper lyrics, Jan Johnson used to sing folk music but ended up being recruited by BT and voicing more than a couple of big room anthems.

Coldplay
Clocks (Heaven & Earth Remix) White
The piano hook from clocks was just too tempting for some producers and has found itself either sampled outright or merely copied for various white labels, the exact origin and history of this mix is still uncertain, I've got it on a white label which may ori may not be legal. Hope you enjoy it.

Zero
Emit (Rennie Pilgrem Remix) Streetwise
One of the hottest breaks tracks doing the rounds right now, it's distinctive and probably annoying synth line is a sure sign that dancefloor crazyness is imminent - don't say I didn't warn you.
Radioactive Man
Bassick Element Rotters Golf Club
The name of the label alone is sheer genius, which is appropriate for something coming from the minds of the two lone swordsmen. Radioactive Man is just Keith on his own, doing a nice line in dark electro breakbeat numbers.

Benny Bennassi
Satisfaction Data
OMG! This record is a monster! Those crazy Italians have been doing some great things recently - and this is a perfect example.
Hyper
Slapper (Jon Carter Remix) Four:Twenty
Nice house reworking of a DJ Hyper track, Hyper doesn't seem to do that much original material, so it's always nice to hear something from him.

Dusk
Stars Phonetic
House record with an inspirational vocal and more than a little help from Moby.

Kosheen
In My Head (Planet Funk Remix) White
This track from Kosheen's forthcoming album has been given the remix treatment by producers of the moment 'PLanet Funk'

Hour 2 - Special Label Feature - Southern Fried

Heading to the Deep South - The South of England that is - Brighton to be precise, Norman Cook set up Southern Fried records to release tracks which he though were being overlooked by other mainstream labels. This was a long time before he ever used the name 'Fatboy Slim', but hte label has endured and continued to put out great records. It's even just released a remix of the Elton John disco classic 'Are You Ready For Love' - and somehow it still feels like an underground label. That track arrived a little too late for this but we've got plenty of other top tunes from the happiest label on the planet.

Stay Funky....
see ya Next Week.
