Tracklisting - Hour 1

Artist Track Label Buy? (readme)
Bassbin Twins ESW Marine Parade
This is the intro track we play at the start of every show. Slammin Beats!

Zoot Women
It's Automatic (Tom MIddleton Cosmos Mix) Wall Of Sound
Great acid tinged filter disco number getting the Cosmos remix treatment.

Eric Morillo, Harry Romero, Jose Nunez, Jessica Eve
Dancin (2003 Remix) Subliminal
What a line up! This is Subliminal's 100th release, continuing to do great things for the world of House music.
Bootsy Collins feat Kelli Ali
Play With Bootsy (ATFC Remix) White
I've had this in my bag for quite a while, it's quite a pairing (although it can't compete with Subliminal 100) - this remix is a little light on the Kelli Ali vocal, but it's still a great record.

Stir Fry
Breakin On The Streets Bedrock Breaks
This was on DJ Hyper's Bedrock Breaks mix album, launching the bedrock breaks spin off label, more on Bedrock later......

BT and Tsunami One
The Hip Hop Phenomenon Marine Parade
This was on BT's last album "Movement In Still Life" and is something of a standard in my DJ sets, I'm the proud owner of 2 copies of this track and I'll frequently cut them up back to back to do a live remix.

Orinoco
Island (Moguai Mix) Positiva
This track took a good 18 months to make the journey from white label to bona fide Hit, Orinoco is a Timo Maas project but this sounds a lot more trancey than most of his work. Plus the Moguai remix is interesting to people who've heard Moguai's Guitar heavy tracks from recent months.
Empirion
Narcotic Influence #1 XL
I'm sure the sample could raise this record to the level of social commentator, but to be honest I just love the driving beats, they have strong links with the Prodigy, and they seem to be taking about the same amount of time between albums ;-)

Spork
Let It Ride Distinctive Breaks
This is on Tayo's recent Y4K 'Dread At The Controls' compilation, it's got a more electro feel to it, without sounding totally like a Miami Bass track.
Scam
Get Into The Music Deepcut
Scam is apparently a pseudonym being used by the ever fantastic Krafty Kuts, so you know what to expect, more funky breaks and chunky basslines, great!

Future Sound Of London
Papua New Guinea Jumpin' and Pumpin'
This is one of the greatest electronic records ever, it's a perennial favourite which never goes out of style, and I've managed to acquire a grand total of 16 different remixes on vinyl. (I'm still looking for the Marco V remix and the Drum n' Bass version!)

Fast
Transmission (Public Domain Mix) Cream
The original mix is an absurdly bad trance number, I can't see why any label would sign it and commission Public Domain to do a remix. But it's easily the best thing ever associated with Public Domain, probably because it doesn't have any crappy sub hip-hop, sorry Hard-Hop, MC'ing over the top.

Underworld
King Of Snake (Fatboy Slim Remix) JBO
I don't play nearly enough Underworld, actually most of their famous tracks are in the 140bpm range, faster than most shows, but hey, while I'm here I've gotta take the opportunity. So here's the Fatboy Slim remix, creating a perfect backing track for the insane underworld vocals, see ya next week.

Hour 2 - Special Label Feature - Bedrock

Bedrock is of course John Digweed and Nick Muir, they've produced several classic records and their remixes are frequently the highlight of many releases. Bedrock is also a regular club night in the UK and a record label which plays host to many releases from like minded artists. Recently the label has kept abreast of music trends and there's now the Bedrock Breaks offshoot, hosting original records and a couple of top compilations put together by DJ Hyper. So this week we're bringin all these members of the Bedrock family together into a feature on possibly the best known names in progressive house.

Stay Funky....
see ya Next Week.
